The company grew quickly, moving to bigger premises and then to its current location near the city centre in 1997. In-house hard chrome plating expanded from one small tank to five, and the takeover of Charlie Styles Grinding increased capacity to 2500mm long shafts with up to 600mm O/D.
The takeover of GP Engineering added metal spraying to the repair services, alongside a temperature-controlled inspection room. Andrew Sweetman became a director in 2014 and later bought the company with his wife Andrea Sweetman in 2019, continuing to grow the business.
We begin by grinding the workpiece to remove wear, corrosion or damage where necessary.
The workpiece is then hard chrome plated oversize so that we are certain of full coverage of any corroded or worn areas.
Finally, we regrind the workpiece back to its original size, restoring it to a tight tolerance and removing any excess chrome.
